About Patrick O'Keefe
I have been a Yankees fan since birth. My first favorite player was Don Mattingly. After he retired, Wade Boggs was my temporary favorite player until I met Derek Jeter before his rookie year. After that, Jeter was my favorite player and will remain so until he retires.
I am only 21, so I have not experienced many losing years as a baseball fan who pays attention. But, I remember when we had Mike Gallego and Spike Owen and Matt Nokes and Steve Howe and Melido Perez and the rest. When I started following the Yankees closely, Buck Showalter was the manager.
I've been to Yankee Stadium once (to a game that didn't count, but the stats counted, if I recall) and Fenway Park twice. The Yankees won both times at Fenway and the other game didn't count, as I said.
The Yankees are a great franchise with a great history and I am proud to be among their base. I feel lucky to root for a team that has (and hopefully continues to) been in the playoffs for all of these years in a row. But, when they finally miss the playoffs, I'll still be right there as much as I have always been.
As far as non baseball, I own the iFroggy Network, of which this site is a part. I wrote a book on internet community management called Managing Online Forums. I like sports (obviously), writing, investing, music, a few TV shows (House, 24, The Simpsons, The War at Home, Family Guy), reading and plenty of other things.
