Phil Hughes pitched six strong innings, allowing only one run via a homer to Josh Barfield and Joba Chamberlain followed up for two with four strikeouts. Rivera pitched a perfect ninth to preserve a 6-1 Yankees win.

A-Rod got the scoring started by hitting his 37th homer off of Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona. The Yankees would add a few more when the Indian infield couldn't make some routine plays on routine ground balls.

Hughes looked great after coming off a self admitted poor outing. His curve ball was breaking sharp and he was getting ahead of hitters all night long. Chamberlain was even more impressive than his first outing, hitting 99 on the radar gun and having a devastating slider.

The series continues tonight with Mike Mussina going up against Paul Byrd.
